ODE Yearly Awards

Educator of the Year: This person shines at their work or in their community.  

Distinguished Service: This person gives their time and talent at a local, state and national level.

 


Criteria

Applications are due: 30 days prior to the annual meeting. 

  • Candidates must be a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators
  • Active member of ODE
  • Be a Certified Diabetes Educator with at least three years of experience
  • Not be a member of the ODE Nomination Committee

Procedure:

You need not be a member of ODE to nominate a candidate.   Completed applications include:

  • 1. A resume or work history·
  • 2. One-page application/narrative (with examples) highlighting work activities
  • 3. Offices in diabetes organizations: local, state, national
  • 4. Innovative practices, attributes and accomplishments
  • 5. Patient teaching and relational skills
  •
